THEATRE CLASSES
Pursuing excellence and joy through theatre!
-
Greenleaf teachers and directors foster a positive, welcoming, and healthy environment for every student.
-
All students have the opportunity to perform 1-3 times a year, depending on the class and level.
-
Costumes and script selections are always appropriate and thoughtfully selected.
-
We are passionate about good stories and enjoying theatre as a gift from God!
The theatre dress code is easy-to-move-in clothing, with no bare midriffs, short shorts, flip-flops, heels, or baggy clothing due to the nature of the classes. Teens should have a Ben Nye basic makeup kit.

Natalia Catlett
Head of Theatre Department
Natalia is a dedicated teacher, director, and mentor to students ranging from 5 years into adulthood. Having loved the art of live theatre for as long as she can recall, Natalia strives to teach her students to love being effective communicators. She delights in teaching students to find their voices through sharing quality stories as they learn how they are uniquely created for God’s glory.
Teresa Ellis
Theatre Instructor
Teresa is no stranger to the stage, having performed her first production in 1st grade. She continued to perform in middle school and high school, and was involved in productions at the Music Theatre for Young People of Kansas City company. Teresa earned her BFA in Theatre Arts from Nebraska Wesleyan University, where she discovered her love for directing and stage management. After graduation, she participated in various productions around Kansas City.
Family is a priority for Teresa, as she is a mother of 2. Despite her busy family life, she owns her own wedding planning and event management business. Additionally, she also enjoys volunteering at her church, holding leadership roles within both the women’s ministry and the children’s ministry.
Katie Burchett
Theatre Instructor
Katie has been actively involved in theater since the age of 9. Since coming to Greenleaf in 2016, she has worked to grow her skills in a variety of theater classes and shows, including some musical training as well. For the past four years, Katie has been a member of the Greenleaf Drama Performance Company and is now on the leadership team for the company. She found her love of working behind the scenes on shows as she had the opportunity to direct and co-direct a variety of shows outside of Greenleaf. Katie is very passionate about the arts and using them to further God’s kingdom, and is so excited to get to lead others in that endeavor as they grow in their theater skills!
